Miniature excavators with a capacity of less than 5 tons and mainstream models with a capacity of 1.5 to 1.8 tons. Small excavators with a capacity of less than 15 tons are used, and mainstream excavators with a capacity of 5 to 8 tons are used. Large excavators above 35 tons.
Large, medium, and small excavators are classified by tonnage. Generally, excavators below 20 tons belong to small excavators, excavators between 20 tons and 30 tons belong to medium-sized excavators, and excavators above 30 tons belong to the category of large excavators.
The definition of small excavators is that excavators and loaders with a capacity of 1 to 6 tons can be called small excavators, and products with a capacity of 2.7 to 3.0 tons account for a large proportion. The reason is that they can easily use general-purpose transportation vehicles for ground transfer.
